I dont understand how this guy gets more publicity standing in sh1t in his farm than blur ever got. I dont really see the difference with standing in sh1t and listening to blur. I like all the cocaine comments people have put as well. If i havent made myself clear mcp, blur are sh1t.
Whilst I not inclined to defend Alex James and his fame-hungry-cheese-making ways, I think it is widely recognised that Blur, and Damon Albarn in particular were by far the brighest light in the sky which was Brit Pop. Albarn has matured into on of this country’s most intelligent and ecletic songwriters who, if anything, improves with age. The last few years alone have seen various Albarn creations impress with their songwriting and invention, such as The Good, The Bad and The Queen, Gorrilaz and his recent take on the Chinese Monkey legend. Whilst his contemporaries of old have either imploded (Suede, Pulp, Cast, Shed 7) or are now trotting out a much more inferior version of the formula which made them famous originally (Oasis, Radiohead), Albarn continues to inspire awe and delight.
On another note, whilst Alex James is indeed a cock, the bassline on ‘Entertain Me’ is absolutely marvellous.
