Blur…. the second coming

It’s inevitable. Amidst many lesser bands reuniting in the last few years (The Verve, Take That), I finally breathed a sigh of relief this week as the first signs that an Blur reunion could be on the cards. And by that I mean a Blur reunion which includes Coxon.

This article http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/music/newsid_7726000/7726997.stm is about Albarn’s new Monkey opera and mentions that both Coxon and James were there. Watch this space.

On the Monkey opera itself, It looks really good and Dar.. I mean Mormanski if you don’t go to see it, then you don’t deserve to live in London.

However as a rather frugal Scot, I must take issue with ‘

‘They call it Monkey’s World, and it’s a huge marquee with the theatre, foyer and a restaurant – serving Chinese dishes at £28 a head – inside.’

28 quid? They must think there’s ‘One Born Every Minute’……

The chances of me going to see an opera are low. The chances of me going to see a monkey opera are very low. The chances of me going to see a monkey opera created by Damon Albarn are extremely low. The chances of me going to see a monkey opera created by damon albarn that costs money are nil.

There are far better things to do on London on any given night. Getting shot six times in the head in Stockwell tube station springs to mind as one example.
