Take heed, the universe …

will eventually become a cold, dead wasteland

Righto, back to work.

Bullshit. All theory. How dae they ken? Surely it’s the height of arrogance to think nothing exists beyond out universe. These scientist fellies don’t know jack.

How does arrogance come into it?

The universe is by definition, everything that exists. So there can’t be anything outside it.

These scientists do know things. How science is reported by some journalists is the problem. These journalists either do not understand what they are reporting and misinterpret studies, or worse, willfully exaggerate and twist these studies to produce articles that grab peoples attention.

Unfortunately, there is a distinct probability that the universe will expand forever. All stars will eventually die, all the energy will be spread out so thinly that there will not be enough energy to support any life anywhere for the rest of eternity. Think about that. If it doesn’t make you shit bricks then you don’t get it.

Hardly a new theory and the human race is heavy odds on to expire way before the opportunity to fade into the black expanse arrives. Until then life is either worth celebrating (my spats joke) or futile (the Bitches Ain’t Shit link).

Aye…why should it make me shit bricks? One day I am going to die and so is every single person I have met…yeah, I already knew that. Next please!

It’s not just that you are going to die. It’s not just that every person you have ever met is going to die. It’s not even that the entire human race is going to die. It’s that there will be no life anywhere. There will be nothing. That nothing will last for ever.

Mind you, that spats “joke” makes me want to bathe myself in a bath of the nothingness.

what about parallel universes???? Sorry, but nobody knows enough right now to know that this is definitely going ot happen. But if it’s inevitable… then why be scared?

    Fair enough.

But if it’s inevitable… then why be scared?

Death is inevitable and it terrifies me on a daily basis.

I’ve seen Dr Who and it never mentioned any of this.

Being scared implies hope that the bad thing which you’re scared off will not happen. Therefor why be scared for the end of the world.

Also, I thought matter could not be destroyed. So nothing… is still something. Isn’t it?

Aye, there will be the same amount of mass/energy as there is now. It’ll just be so spread out that nothing interesting can happen.

Imagine jam on toast. Mmm, delicious. Now imagine the same amount of Jam but spread over a million slices of bread.

Also, the bread is now cardboard and someone has given you paper cuts on your eyes and cock.
